Identity and Branding
Role: Lead Designer
Working for: 270 Strategies
Working with: Creative Director
During my time at 270, we were often working with small nonprofits or campaigns that were launching from nothing. This would mean the first step in the creative process was logo design and establishing a brand. A logo has to represent an organization, candidate or company even in passing. It is important that the logo encompasses the brand but also exists as a simple and memorable mark. The most challenging part of this work is teaching the client that while their logo mark needs to represent their brand it does not have to literally show all the parts of their work or organization. Finding a mark that is simple but effective is truly an art, of course often takes several iterations. Once there was a logo, I would also create brand guidelines.
